When is it advisable to take mineral supplements?

Minerals are essential, but an unbalanced diet or region-related differences in the mineral content of foods may result in an insufficient intake. If an iron deficiency or another mineral deficiency has been confirmed, targeted supplementation may be beneficial, ideally in consultation with your doctor. Blood tests can reliably identify a mineral deficiency, while excessive intake should be avoided, as overdosing may pose health risks.
