Nicotinamide Riboside is a form of Vitamin B3 (Niacin) that acts as a precursor to NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide).
NAD+ plays a crucial role in various metabolic pathways and primarily functions as an oxidizing agent. Its energy-rich form, NADH, is particularly important for ATP production.
1. NAD+ Synthesis: NR is converted into NAD+ in the body, which can increase NAD+ levels in cells. This is important because NAD+ levels decrease with age or certain diseases.
2. Energy Production: NAD+ plays a critical role in converting nutrients into energy in the mitochondria (the "powerhouses" of the cells).
3. Cellular Repair: NAD+ is also essential for repairing DNA damage and the functioning of enzymes like sirtuins, which are involved in regulating metabolic processes and aging.
4. Health Benefits: Increasing NAD+ levels through NR supplementation is believed to potentially have health benefits, such as improving cellular metabolism, supporting heart health, and possibly slowing the aging process.
Ascorbic Acid is an organic acid that occurs in four different forms. However, only L-ascorbic acid is biologically active. Both L-ascorbic acid and its equivalent derivatives are referred to as Vitamin C. Due to its properties as an antioxidant and radical scavenger, Vitamin C plays an important role in the body. It also acts as an essential coenzyme in the biosynthesis of collagen.
A deficiency of Vitamin C can lead to scurvy since collagen is found not only in connective tissues but also in practically all other human and animal cells. This can adversely affect connective tissues and cause symptoms such as fatigue and tiredness.
Vitamin C is primarily found in fruits and vegetables. Citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, and grapefruits are well-known to be rich in Vitamin C. Among vegetables, particularly kale, red cabbage, white cabbage, and sauerkraut have high Vitamin C content.

Are the capsules vegan, and how are they made?
Yes. Our capsule shells are made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), a purely plant-based cellulose.
They contain no gelatin, gluten, lactose, or GMOs. Filling takes place in Austria under GMP and HACCP standards at gentle temperatures to keep sensitive actives stable.
Every batch is lab tested for heavy metals, microbiology, and active content.

We ship every order climate neutrally with DHL GoGreen. Within Germany your parcel usually arrives in 1 to 3 business days. Delivery to EU countries takes 3 to 10 business days depending on the destination.
The flat shipping rate is 4.90 € (DE) and is waived from 75 € order value.
For Austria, France, Belgium, and Italy the cost is 6.90 €. Other EU countries: 9.90 €. Switzerland and Liechtenstein: 15.90 €. The shipping fee is waived from 150 € order value.
All shipments are trackable, and orders placed on business days by 12 pm are usually handed over to DHL the same day.
